YUKA YAMANE

YUKA YAMANE

Yuka Yamane, who has down syndrome, has been going to a painting class to learn painting for more than 15 years. When she started, she used pens and water paint and drew quadrangles and triangles while painting in different colors slowly and neatly. Once she spent almost a year to finish a single work. She is currently engaged in her creative activity at a welfare facility which specializes in artistic activities. Now her style has changed. She doesn’t draw grids like she used to anymore but instead uses more random brush strokes, so a sense of freedom has been generated in her works. As she repeats painting with many colors, there is a mixture of bright colors and deep colors. In this way they give the interesting feeling of depth. This is the attraction of her works.
